Hello there!

T store developer center is open to all developers ranging from students without business registration to individual developers. You may feel frustrated many times when you find that you are not able to test your apps in all Android devices while developing application on your own. 

This is due to a problem called ‘Device Fragmentation.’ It's no exaggeration to say that this issue is considered Androids fate, because so many Android devices have open source characteristics.

Google has guides to solve this issue, such as "Building a Dynamic UI with Fragments" or“Pure Android Design,” etc. Because this has been problematic for a long time. Although there     are many resources available, you will never know how your application causes problems in various devices with different resolution setting. 

[Google I/O 2011] Device fragment issue has not yet fully solved. 

The problem right now is the cost. There are more than 180 devices supported by T store. For instance, if you were developing alone, it would cost a great amount even to purchase a couple of testing devices. 

So, we've got 20 devices ready for you developers! They are not a giveaway which means you do not need to apply to be. Anyone who is a member of developer center may install and test applications!

Remote Test Service Overview

Let me introduce you to the remote test service function supported by T store. As the name describes, the remote test is a developing tool for developers to install and test applications, and check log cats by connecting remotely. 

How to make a reservation Reservation from web Apps > Make reservation at “Remote Test”  You may make reservation up to 2 hours per day.  You may check and make reservation up to one week in advance!

How to test Test via the client program You may install, and test APK. You may check development information, such as Log information. Provide additional function such as file transfer, capture.

How to make reservation (Web)  

Apps > Remote Test. You may see that “Remote Test” tap is now available. Like the picture below, you may check available devices and available schedules.

Device information  

You may see detailed information by placing cursor on top, or extending the window browser. 

Check schedule and make reservation

You may select available start and finish time and press “Make reservation”.

You may make reservation up to 2 hours per day within a week, and you also can freely change time or cancel reservation before the test start time.

(However, you may only cancel the reservations if it is after the start time. ^^;; )

[Tip] There would be many possible ways to utilize this. If you want to test many devices within a short period of time, you may test up to 4 devices for 30 minutes for each, per day. 

How to test (Client) 

At the scheduled time, you may instantly run client after following a few simple installation steps.

Because Client program is based on JAVA, you may use it on JAVA-installed Windows, OSX, and Linux. 

Action of test client is also very easy. 

Client functions, such as remote connection, are located at the top, and the actual device test function is located at the bottom. We focused on including a function to log or capture error circumstances.
